We go to the local market to see the fish & shellfish to discover why the Spanish claim that the best freshest seafood can be found in Madrid, the furthest place from the coast! Learn how to spot the freshest catch and share some tips on buying seafood.

We then head to the Malasaña neighbourhood to check in to a Madrid institution; a Galician hidden restaurant where you will have the FRESHEST, most delicious shellfish platter of your life! ALL PRODUCTS ARE COOKED & WERE IN THE SEA THE EVENING BEFORE. Roll up your sleeves, take your shellfish opener & napkin while you tackle freshly caught seasonal seafood of all different shapes and sizes. Not for the fish squeamish, It is a very hands on fun experience for both newbies & the more experienced. We will teach you how to eat the products if you are not experienced. This experience includes the best crisp white wine (from Galicia), Galician deserts & finally we will conclude with a Galician lunch finale: I will show you how the people from the costal areas of northern Spain set fire to their after dinner liquor in a huge pot! Bring your camera, not to be missed. The involves sharing large shellfish platters. I can accommodate meat eaters and vegetarians. Tips - Graciously accepted, not obligatory, so I'm very happy that most people just give a fair review.

Where you’ll be
A locals farmers and fresh seafood market - see the fish and shellfish flown in from the coast that very same morning. Then a Hidden secret Galician shellfish restaurant = clean, lively, hands on, where you must learn (or show off ) the art of seafood shelling, peeling, and tasting. Here you will experience Galicia in the very heart of Madrid.

Guest requirements:
Guests must be of legal drinking age to be served alcohol. Guests ages 2 and up can attend, up to 10 guests in total. Parents can also bring children under 2 years of age. Guest should be comfortable around seafood.
